Alles ist eine Frage von Nähe und Distanz. Die Nähe zum Wichtigen, und andererseits
der nötige Abstand zu den Nebensachen.
Form follows function: Das Zeichnen ist im wesentlichen ein Abbilden von ausschweifenden gedanklichen Schleifenbewegungen und dem sprunghaften Nachvollziehen eigenartiger Vorkommnisse. Überall tritt jemand ins Bild und schiebt ein Büschel Irgendwas zwischen uns und den leuchtenden Horizont der Bedeutung. Zeichnen ist also ein Versuch, dem Sich-Verlieren, dem Zuviel-Sehen und dem Zuviel-Drüber-Nachdenken eine brüchige, inkohärente und suchende Materialität zu verleihen. Oft sieht das aus wie aus Versehen.

It all comes back to a question of distance then, of duely sticking to the important issues, instead of lingering with the trivial.
Form follows function: After all, drawing is a visualisation of haunting thoughts that go rambling out in wide loops, erratically tracking odd incidents along the way.
Yet wherever we turn to, someone will enter the picture to flourish a bunch of what-ever, blocking our view of the glaring horizon of meaning. Thus drawing is an attempt to render an incoherent materiality to an immaterial process: of getting lost, of seeing too much and of thinking too much at a time. Quite often, this looks like an oversight.
